Desk people were friendly. The room was clean. Decent breakfast. Quiet.
Staying here turned our plans upside down and inside out. Technically it may be in Galesburg, but it's 10 miles from downtown. It's really in Knoxville. We had to drop our plans for a good dinner in Galesburg and eat in the only restaurant around, a so-so place. We expected to be able to watch the Cardinal's baseball game, but the TV offered only a few channels. No Fox sports midwest. No Chicago stations. No ESPN. No WI-FI. Pillows were shamefully bad. No shelf by the bathroom sink. We won;t stay in a Super8 again. Never.

Room smelled musty so I placed a car air freshener in front of the air conditioning vent and sprayed the air and carpet with Lysol and after that it was fine. The air conditioning didn't seem to get the room very cold even set all the way to 60 degrees. My husband went down one morning for breakfast a half hour before it was supposed to be done and there was nothing left to eat. For the age of the hotel it appeared clean and parts were updated. For what we paid we got our money's worth. We had a small dog with us and our room was very convenient to the outside .

There was mold on the ice machine. The 2 people who were at the desk talked to eachother while the guests were eating their breakfast. That would have been ok if they were talking about things pertaining to their jobs, but they were having a personal conversation that everyone could hear. Not very professional.

I liked that there was a continental breakfast. That helped justify the price of the room.
I have stayed in far better hotels/motels for the money. Price was way out of line for the room. The rooms need to be updated! Had this not been a spur of the moment trip I would have kept looking for a better hotel/motel for the money.
