Extended Stay America Suites Oakland Emeryville

The location was good - easy access to the Bay Bridge.

The water pipes were vibrating very, very loud whenever anyone around took a shower. We had to get up very early (4 a.m.) to make it to UCSF. We felt bad for waking people up so early but needed to take a shower very early. Also since there is a refrigerator in the room the motor is quite loud. We turned it to low and it didn't go off as much.

It was nice to have a kitchen and to be able to have our dog with us.

The walls were incredibly thin, so noise was an issue. The television channels were incredibly limited. The toilet seat was about to fall off. The shower only provided semi-hot water for about 30 seconds (at the most) before going cold. I would recommend this hotel to someone who has a pet and/or needs a kitchen.

That it was over in 3 days.

Not much amenities at all, place is a dump. Room was dirty, bathroom sink was full of hair & counter was dirty & full of hair. No soap or shampoo or anything else, just towels and one small bar of soap. There were no carts available for moving my luggage & no one to help me either. Room had "Do not Disturb" on door yet they had scheduled window cleaners & never informed me of that. They called my room on the day the window cleaners were there after I had already left for the day to tell me that they needed to enter the room for window cleaning to remove the screens. Since I was already gone when they had called, I did not get the message until I got back that evening & discovered that they had keyed into my room without my consent & proceeded with the window cleaning & removed the screens. This is completely unacceptable since they could have informed me at check-in or at least one day prior. I will never stay at this hotel again & advise others to STAY AWAY.

Location was great. it was also quiet at night

The windows were difficult to open and close, the fire detector flashed very brightly every few seconds and made it difficult to fall asleep the cleanser used was a bit overpowering and did not disperse, the kitchen utensils were very sparse (no pot, can opener, no sponge/scrubber...) perhaps for longterm stays who bring their kitchens with them it is enough but not for us short term stays
