Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena, an IHG Hotel

The stay was all right everyone was courteous no complaints

Convenient downtown location. Close to restaurants and bars. The room was adequate. Kind of dated, but generally clean.

I thought the parking situation was terrible. Had to park in the ground floor level. Stairway leading to second level was pretty dirty and it didn't feel particularly safe. When we returned after going out for dinner, there were people drinking in the lobby and in the areas around the elevators. Seemed rather strange when the lounge/bar is just off of the lobby.

The front desk staff very friendly and helpful. We loved our room with the big flat screen TV and also we were very happy with the view of the River and downtown area.

We had a very bad experience with your restaurant. We ordered a $25.99 Filet Mignon for my wife and Steak and ribs for myself. It took close to an HOUR for dinner to arrive. The size of my wife's Filet was ridiculous for the money! Steak was ordered medium and when my wife cut into it it was hardly cooked at all inside! Blood red and oozing all over! The vegetables were stone cold and so was the baked potato! The waitress took the steak back and had it cooked some more which took another 15 minutes! The waitresses are doing the Bar tending along with their waitress duties and it seems to cause them to not be able to pay enough attention to their dining patrons. Not a good experience at all! Hopefully this problem can be addressed and improvements made by the next time we come for a visit.

The room was very comfortable, and the restaurant served reasonably priced, excellent food. My husband appreciated the exercise room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet - 2 critical issues!

The "pool" is shallow and small - though that's not a "deal-breaker" for me. We had a little leak under the sink and also had to have the drain plug fixed, but it was pretty insignificant.
