Main reason for choosing The Current Iowa, Autograph Collection: Reputation
I was there for a short stay. The hotel was very conveniently located, virtually newly renovated and very well cared for, the staff was very helpful. Careful attention to design, which is nice. The bath was large and very nice - particularly the shower, which I very much prefer to standing in a tub with a shower curtain clinging to me. I love to see a handsome old building reused thoughtfully, and staying in something beside a standard, could-be-anywhere, plastic hotel.
A small detail: hotels should always pay attention to door closers. The one in my room let the door slam thunderously unless I stayed with it until the last inch.
