Best Western Heritage Inn - Chico

I was with friends to attend a conference. The breakfast menu was good. I did appreciate that it was a roomy area.

I recently saw a video on hotels and how beds are not made. I checked my bed before getting into it and the bed sheet wasn't made properly. It did look like someone had slept in it. So I chose to sleep on top of the bed as I didn't want to disturb the staff as I returned late from the conference on Friday night.

Big room, comfortable bed. very helpful staff ( Max and Justin), friendly and caring.

Well I arrived to check in with my 4 pound chihuahua and was told there were no rooms left that allowed dogs., Even though you previously accepted my reservation . So I, still waiting for a refund on my room, cause I was never allowed to stay there. I must say the Holiday Inn Down the road was very accommodating and accepted me and my 4 pound companion even without a reservation. Not sure what went wrong but next time I'll reserve with Holiday Inn before you folks.

Not a whole lot of breakfast and breakfast room really small but it worked.

I liked the friendliness of the front desk staff, the holiday decor was welcoming, and the room was very comfortable.

The blond woman in breakfast area behind the counter..was annoyed at my teenage son out for not knowing how to work the waffle machine (his first time), scolding him on how to do it, ordering him to throw his pancake batter cup away before he had a chance to do it, asking me if "this was my cup? when I placed a juice cup on the counter..which made her watch our every move. The toast was slow coming out of the toaster and while I waited, she popped up with "Was that my toast in the toaster"?. She was definately watching us and condescending..as we were practically the only ones there. She stood behind the counter looking long at her fingernails. She seemed to be self absorbed and..waiting for people to leave. I felt imbarrassed like we were "nuisances". it was unpleasant to say the least. If it were only for this, I would not return to this hotel. But all else was very good.

As noted in the ratings above, the room was comfortable, clean and attractive, the bed was comfortable and the location was ideal for my business in the area. Despite being close to a freeway, the room was also very quiet.
