I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Campanile. I had just popped over the English channel for a two night break with my daughter and it was great to sample that special French atmosphere which we experienced in this hotel. The food was great - lovely crispy baguettes and croissants (which you don't get in Britain)- and a delicious meal of salmon, chips and green beans with a choice of tasty deserts afterwards. I liked the accmmodation with the balcony outside - very charming and there was a nice view of the countryside from the balcony. I would definitely return here in the future.

Staff were lovely, very helpful. Restaurant was very good for the prices paid. Rooms were clean, but a little tight for space.

The beds were particularly comfortable, and it was nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Health and safety - I fell over a doorstop while trying to read the menu on the outside of the building, and scraped my knees and elbows.

Having had a long drive it was nice to have a little comfort
Yes i thought the check out time 11 oclock was a little early also breakfast only until 9am was too early.

The restaurant and the food were fabulous and the staff were very nice. It was my first time staying there and would definately stay again. My sister recommened it as she has stayed there so many times.

The proximity to the Channel Port was convenient although I was not aware that It would be necessary to enter a one way system when leaving the hotel which caused me, a lone traveller, a bit of difficulty. Identifying where I eventually emerged on the road system, in the early morning darkness, was problematic.
I considered the shower unpleasant and in need of attention. Cracked and discoloured tiles and grouting was very off putting. For this reason alone I did not use the shower. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and the tea/coffee in the room was very appreciated but would they please get rid of the mouldy ceiling and grouting in the shower area.

Cook did not wash his hands while handling hot and cold food.He did not use any utensils while preparing food and used his hands to place meat on pan and subsequently handled salads etc. which were being served to clients.A waitress accidently spilt half our bottle of wine,while cleaning our table and reacted in such a manner that one would think we were to blame for her mishap.She failed to apologise and left the tissue paper she had used to wipe the floor etc.on our table.We had to call upon service of another waitress to clear the mess and she organised a replacement bottle!!

Comfortable beds with extra pillows and blankets available without having to ask.
Very clean and well maintained.
Evening meal was well cooked but they seemed to be a bit short staffed as the receptionist for hotel was also waitressing.
Bathroom light wasn't immediately obvious and we switched on the electric fire by mistake (not a good idea as it was in the middle of a heatwave). Perhaps a label stuck on the switch would clarify things.
