THE STAFF WERE SO VERY HELPFUL IMMEDIATELY MOVING US TO ANOTHER LOVELY ROOM AFTER A BAND WAS PLAYING LOUDLY IN THE TAVERN RESTAURANT BELOW US FOR A SPECIAL EVENT. BEAUTIFUL, LOVELY HOTEL RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE MALL IN THE CENTER OF BRUNSWICK, ME. LOCATED JUST ACROSS FROM BOWDOIN COLLEGE.
WILL DEFINITELY RETURN AGAIN NEXT YEAR ON OUR JOURNEY UP TO MT. DESERT ISLAND, MAINE.

The hotel's location is good for guests wanting to walk around Brunswick. (Local residents do not like the hotel's location or hotel guests parking their cars on their residential street.) The room and bathroom were very clean. The mattress was very comfortable.
The heating system seemed odd and noisy. The thermometer in the bedroom kept creeping back to 60 F or lower and there did not appear to be a source of heat in the bathroom. Since we were in bed, and only staying one night, it didn't matter much but it would if we cared to sit up and read or watch TV. The check-out desk clerk seemed inexperienced and was going to charge us for the room, for which we had pre-paid over the web.

I loved its proximity to downtown and Bowdoin. It is appealing to look at too.
It had a distinct and strong cat odor in the foyer. Also, I had no control over the climate control in our room, nor could I open the window more than a crack.

Friendly service and a high level of comfort and cleanliness. Good-sized rooms. Perfect location for visitors to Bowdoin. Food in the dining room was very good.
The beds were comfortable, but perhaps the bedding was a little too thick, felt warm. In the dining room, sometimes service was rather slow.
