Baymont by Wyndham Branford/New Haven

It is quiet and very convenient to my family and friends. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly

The carpet between bathroom and bedroom was ragged. A nail or some thing hurt my bare feet every time I went in or out of the bathroom

Much better quality of service compare to the price!

This hotel has no elevator and was difficult to get our luggage to second floor. The hallways smelled like stale smoke. The heater gave off an odor when we turned it on. Housekeeping didn't clean our room 2 times during our 8 day stay and we had to go to the front desk for clean towels. We had NUMEROUS occasions that our key would not work. I even went so far as to have them program the key before I walked up to the second floor and it still didn't work. The toilet also had issues and had to be flushed serval times. On our stay this time, there was a party going on somewhere at 2 am in the morning and we could not sleep. We have family in Connecticut and travel there several times a year. On this trip, we searched other hotels in the area and found one that is closer, comparable in price and in better condition. We will not be back to the Baymont

Staff was friendly and helpful

May have been renovating an area but parking lot was very muddy. Didn't make for easy in and out all dressed up for a wedding. was Smokey too...not used to that anymore. All businesses in MI are non smoking

The location was perfect for my needs. Extremely close to the highway, yet not too close to hear traffic all night. And the breakfast, including the waffle maker - one word - AWESOME!

While I gave the staff an 8 rating, there were two major issues for my stay. Check-in was quick, which I needed since we had Valentine's Day dinner plans. We got to our room, unpacked and left for dinner. It took us all of 20 minutes. We were off to dinner, at 6:25 PM and returned to the hotel at around 11:30 PM. We got to our room, the cardkey did not work. I asked the night clerk, and he informed me, we had been moved to another room. Hard to imagine, since we were not there to be told this. I had not received a phone call, or email either. I told the clerk, this was a mistake as we had already unpacked, and thus our luggage and personal items were still in the original room. He re-activated our original room lock and we were on our way. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed the bathroom light was on and my wife's makeup bag was on the dresser instead of on the bathroom sink. I thought it odd and questioned her. Turns out upon further investigation, someone had been IN our room and gone through our belongings, taking two packs of cigarettes out of our mini fridge and a pair of my wife's socks. It was a feeling of violation I would wish on no one. The night clerk was extremely flustered as was the day clerk Felicia. Both were considerate, understanding, and extremely apologetic. Felicia really took care of us. My other concern was the overall building security, in particular the access doors at the end of the buildings. Having to park on the far side of the building shed light on the fact that one of the "secured" door locks, was in fact duct taped over, to keep the door from locking properly. Granted, our room was on the other side of the hotel, past the front desk, but still, this was very disheartening.
