Main reason for choosing Hotel du Commerce: Rate
Visited the hotel in a quiet period, so there was much peace. Remember to ask for a room on floor 5, then there own little terrace.
Breakfast buffet is comfortable, however, may well be a slightly greater variety of bread, taking apart buns and rolls was only one relatively light bread type.

Great location across from the Messe. Easy access via city tram from the bahnhof. I received a mobility ticket for free use of city buses and trams for the duration of my stay - this was a very nice bonus! Friendly and courteous staff. Excellent breakfast buffet! Nicely appointed room with a very comfortable bed and a large bathtub with a shower!
Location, accessibility, mobility, and proximity. I prefer Kleine Basel to the Main City even though I had to travel a short distance from the bahnhof. A walk to the Rhein is only 3 or 4 blocks from the hotel. Hotel amenities met or exceeded my expectations. My highest compliments would be that I would recommend this hotel to friends, and that I would definitely stay here in the future!
Only one minor disappointment: the internet booking service described the rooms available as having balconies, but the only balcony I saw was in the hallway next to my room. I also found the price to be slightly higher than similar hotels I have visited in Basel, Bern, and Zurich.
