We loved the location; it was exactly what we read in the reviews by previous guests. We liked the size of the room and bathroom, very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also, the room was ready earlier and they allowed us to take our suitcases up right away. We had a wonderful stay.
The elevators, there are only two VERY SMALL, AND SLOW elevators. To get the bags in was a bit of an operation. Also had to wait quite a long time before an empty elevator was available. Also, the cab dropped us off at the PALACE Hotel just down the same street "the Gran Via", despite the fact that we gave him the address in Spanish-guess he had the idea that that's were we needed to go.

Rates, location, reputation and facilities - all of these things were the reason why I wanted to stay at Avenida Palace. :-) And will choose the hotel again if I come back to Barcelona in the future!

Very good value for money by offering exceptional, very good location, near shops, metro, bus to the airport. Home disappointing, not very warm, perhaps because of the supply, or because we were French??? Concierge pleasant.

Its geographical location and the fact that we had requested a quiet room and not the street.

Superb location. Very friendly staff, especially in the reception. Nice building, and good hotel facilities. And - of special interest for Beatles-fans: The Beatles stayed in the mastersuite (109-111)of the hotel during their Madrid/Spain-tour in 1965. I had the pleasure to stay in part of the same room (109)!

My husband and I have stayed at other four and five star hotels when we often visit Barcelona. The hotel staff truely made us feel very welcome. The location is perfect because it's central to the Ramblas, shopping, and dining.

We are from Chicago and didn't want to miss the Bears being the Superbowl - the staff went out of their way to help us find information on where is was being shown.
The elevators were a bit too slow.

Nice hotel for a weekend stay due to it's location.

Walking distance to tourist attractions and close to the Hop-on Hop-of bus stop
Rooms are a bit noisy
