Getting around the islands from your Faroe Islands hotel is much easier than you’d think. Regular ferry service is quite extensive, and there’s a bridge connecting Streymoy and Eysturoy, the two largest islands. And now there are even sub-sea tunnels connecting the islands of Vágar and Streymoy, and the islands of Borðoy and Eysturoy, making hotels in the Faroe Islands even more convenient to all the sights. A hotel in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands can put you close to many unique sights, like the waterfront Faroese Løgting, located on the site where the country’s parliament has been meeting since 900 AD! Tórshavn, Faroe Islands was named for Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, and the city has a wonderful historical museum that is convenient to most hotels. You could also stay in a hotel near Tórshavn Cathedral, which dates from 1788 or a hotel near the Nordic House, the country’s main cultural center.

But what draws visitors here is nature, and things to do in the Faroe Islands include horse trekking, hiking up the magnificent, wind-swept green mountain slopes and boating atop the beautiful blue water. Because of weather and daylight issues this far north, the main tourist season in the Faroe Islands is between May and September with most people filling up hotels in July and August. But if winter doesn’t scare you, the islands offer an even greater experience of solitude, and whatever kind of hotel you like, HotelsOne can help you find that perfect hotel all rear round, whether it’s in the middle of Tórshavn or one of the conveniently located hotels near Vagar Airport.
