Miami Beach Hotels
If, when you think of Miami, you think of swanky nightclubs and beautiful women in bikinis... Well, you're not too far off. Miami Beach, Florida has long been one of the United States' most popular holiday destinations and for good reason. Its laidback glamour, tropical weather, and obvious appreciation for all things fun and sexy make the city feel more Caribbean or Latin than American. In Miami, the party never stops no matter the time of day or night, or even the season. The beaches and restaurants are open year-round, and there are always a great number of excellent hotels in Miami Beach.
While many come solely for the sand and surf, there are other things to see and do in sundrenched Miami Beach. One thing you may notice upon arriving in the coastal city is its penchant for modern design and, in particular, all things Art Deco. The city actually has a surprisingly rich art scene, with institutions like the Miami Art Museum and Lowe Art Museum (the oldest art museum in South Florida) leading the way. The best time to experience Miami's love of art and culture is during December, when the city hosts its annual Art Basel Miami Beach festivities. The festival is the American version of the important contemporary art fair held in Switzerland, and it grows larger and more successful each year. Over 2,000 artists from across the globe take over the beachfront to communicate their points of view via visual art, film and video programming, and multi-media installations. If you are planning to check out Art Basel this year, be sure to make your hotel bookings as soon as possible. The best hotels in Miami tend to fill up quickly.

From the trend-setting streets of South Beach to the swampy marsh of the Florida Everglades, there are many things to see and do in the Miami area. If you are visiting with children, be sure to check out the city's Seaquarium and the Miami Zoo. Parrot Jungle Island, the Monkey Jungle ('where the humans are caged and the monkeys run wild') and, of course, the many beaches of Miami add natural and even wild elements to the otherwise urban landscape. If you have the time, you should also venture a bit outside of the city to see the 1,100 tons of carved coral rock in Homestead, Florida known as Coral Castle. Legend has it that the 'castle' was constructed by hand by a single man, Ed Leedskalnin through the use of paranormal powers. Another architectural wonder is Coral Gables, an upscale suburb of Miami whose European elegance is purposely reminiscent of Spain.
After the sun sets in a fiery show of bright orange and red, it's time to hit the world-renowned nightlife scene of Miami Beach. Vegas-style nightclubs, chic hotel bars, gourmet restaurants specializing in everything from authentic Cuban to fresh sushi, and the Latin flair of Little Haiti come together to create a great party and an unforgettable city.
